Sexuality Studies in Social Work

The SiSW special interest group is for social work academics, practitioners, students, service user and carer allies. This special interest group seeks to explore issues of sexuality (in relation to social work) across the discipline. We aim to extend and strengthen the knowledge base by:

·Providing a friendly and safe forum for discussion and dissemination of ideas;

·Sharing and developing ideas for research and teaching activity;

·Supporting and sustaining each others’ interests and endeavours;

·Contributing to and collaborating on research projects and publications.

·Developing annual/bi-annual conferences/symposia to exchange ideas

Sexuality in this context includes issues of LGBT service users and carers, as well as the position and attitudes towards expressions of intimacy across society.
