About the SIGs
ESWRA has over 30 active Special Interest Groups. These Groups, led by SIG convenors, enable ESWRA members to network and collaborate on specific issues. The Special Interest Groups meet at least once a year at the European Conference for Social Work Research and regularly share information and discussion online. There are twice yearly Newsletters and a SIG Events program during the European Conference for Social Work that allows for all SIG members to come together and to network with each other; at ECSWR 2022 Milan 20 SIGs took part.
Aim of the SIGs
The aim of SIGs is to provide a focal point for networking, exchange of ideas, information and
collaboration in an area of research interest.
Objectives of the SIGs
SIGs provide the infrastructure for the furtherance of high-quality social work research in a European and international context. SIGs are encouraged to:
- Arrange activities/meetings within the ESWRA conference related to their research interest area with the aim of contributing to the development of a research culture within ESWRA as a whole
- Communicate their ideas/activities/work by highlighting this on the EWSRA website
- Contribute to the ESWRA conference through the organisation of symposia, papers
- Encourage participation and promote the benefits of their SIG
- Provide an annual update to the Board of their activities
How to Join a SIG
ESWRA members can join a SIG by visiting MY ESWRA and clicking on the drop down menu choose 'Become a SIG member' and floor the instructions.
Non ESWRA members can join a SIG by visiting the page of the SIG you would like to join and contact the conveners directly or alternatively email the ESWRA Executive Administrator at
info@eswra.org (ESWRA members can also do this)
we would encourage you to become an ESWRA Member; By becoming an ESWRA member, you are joining a growing network across Europe and contributing to the promotion of social work research.
BECOME A SIG MEMBER!
By signing up to be a member of a SIG group you permit use of your name, email and affiliation to be displayed on the internal SIG member list to be used for communication between members.
